"Christian Kane Sings, Saturday Night at Dante's, Sunday Night on Leverage"
67
Christian Kane, Singer, Songwriter, Actor.
Christian Kane is the thirtysomething "Hitter" (formally Muscle) on TNT's Leverage, playing the character of Eliot Spencer, who is the B.A. Baracus of the twenty-first century ( except now there's an A-Team movie out). The Leverage characters are Hitter, Hacker, Grifter, Thief, and Brains. They blow stuff up, they provide Leverage.
Update, July 21, 2010: The Leverage Cast members will be appearing for a panel this Saturday at Comic Con in San Diego.

What Every Leverage Fan Knows
Coming to this page you are probably either a Leverage fan or a Christian Kane fan, or a fan of the band KANE. If not, my job is to fill you in on what the excitement is about.
First thing you learn about Eliot Spencer, he hates guns. The people who try to take him down don't seem to have that figured out yet.
As Leverage fans we know that the show will touch us on many levels. It's smart, but doesn't play down to us. It doesn't treat us like idiots. There are plenty of plot twists, but we know one thing for sure, if the job can be done, this is the team to do it, and if it can't be done, these guys will do it anyway. The heart comes through in every episode, even though these characters are wanted criminals, there will be moments when you wish they were on your side. To tell the truth, seeing how they treat their fans, they probably are. They might not have the time to pull a job on your behalf though.
When we tune in each week, or watch the series on DVD or DVR, we follow the character development week to week, but we know that we can watch the shows out of order, because each episode stands alone. Sometimes movies have sequels that go on forever, (like Rocky or Star Wars) and you just naturally watch them in order because the character was developed in the first film. Leverage is a mini-movie every week, lots of sequels, but you don't have to see them all... Until you've seen one, then just like Lays Potato Chips, (you can't eat just one) you've got to watch them all. I believe there is even a side bet going on somewhere about how far into the show we will get before Eliot says "Dammit, Hardison."
One of the things that makes this show unique is that Christian Kane not only does his own stunts, but he also choreographs the fights, which means that he even has a say in who he fights. He has a group of friends, made over the years, who fill those roles on Leverage.
What has happened now on Leverage is that Christian Kane the singer, and Elliot Spencer the television character are about to collide with the legendary Bo Duke himself, John Schneider. There will be singing, oh yes, and fists will fly Sunday Night on the next episode of Leverage: The Studio Job. Clicking that link will take you to Christian Kane's YouTube channel, where you can watch the preview, which I cannot embed in this hub.
Christian Kane fans are called Kaniacs, and span the globe. If you don't believe me, google his name. 1,370,000 results. Check his Facebook, myspace, and YouTube channel, or that of his management company BrandXMgmt.

Kaniacs Unite!
There seems to be a lot of speculation as to why Christian Kane became a singer. There are Kaniacs who know him from the early days when he was on FAME L.A. , or from ANGEL with David Boreanaz. Many know him from his roles in other movies such as "Second Hand Lions", Summer Catch, and "Her Minor Thing".
So there are a number of people asking when and why he decided to become a singer. This investigative reporter found out the truth at the first google search. Christian Kane is a singer songwriter first, (it's who he is), actor second (that's what he does for a living). In acting he is able to use his imagination and become whoever he wants to be, and then leave that character and go back to being himself. He has been interviewed by Juliet Landau and that is by far the most popular of his interviews yet on YouTube, in which he talks about really putting himself in the movies as a kid. The interview speaks for itself, but the part about the music, and the acting... Christian Kane: " ...I think that songwriting is true, when you get up on stage, and you're singin' songs to people, you better not lie to 'em because they can see right through you. There's an immediate response from your mouth to their ears and back to you with their eyes, and you can't lie..."
Tonight is the last concert at Dante's, according to the Facebook Page, that Kane will be playing for the season. I would guess the show will be packed. They always are. According to Twitter "Kaniacs may spontaneously combust" this weekend.
So where did KANE come from? (be aware that there are several bands with that name, but only one with the talents of Christian Kane and Steve Carlson.)
KANE The Band
KANE is the band that started forming all those years ago when Christian Kane left home to become an actor. Formed by Christian Kane and Steve Carlson, the band had been together since 1998. Their music is all over YouTube, from fan made videos of their songs to pieces of concerts recorded from the screaming section of the audience, where you will more likely hear the fans singing along than any of the vocals coming from the stage. One fan even recorded all of the "in between chatter" of the band to the audience during a show. Christian Kane has his own page where he has selected favorite videos put together by his fans.
It choked me up to hear how humbly each of the leverage and Kane fans are thanked from the stage of Dante's at the 2010 Leverage ConCon, which was held in Portland as a conference/ party for the fans back in March.
For those of you familiar with my hubs, you would expect that all the videos I found would find their way here, but I am still in awe of this knowledge. So I will leave you with the links to the pages where you can find out more about Kane, Christian Kane, and Leverage. I somehow feel more hubs coming on, the cast members, the band members, the movies, the songs. Heck, I might even feel a screenplay coming on.

Faye I think you did a wonderful and informative job on this hub hunnie. Thumbs up babe.
Hey Faybe, I had to stop by and see how the hub came out. You did a wonderful job on it. It's great. However, I would like to inform you that this Sunday's episode is most certainly not the Finale of the season. It is only episode #6 out of ? because Leverage is only in it's Third Season. The first season has 13 episodes and the second season had #15 episodes. They are apparently still shooting the third season. :) Just thought you should know. Excellent work on it though. :) Thank you for sharing. :)
Hey Faybe, I added more comments on Facebook. :)
